Glass in Windows

Windows contain one or more insulated glass units (IGUs). An Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) consists of two or more pieces of flat glass (toughened or laminated) separated by a sealed gas-space.

Types of glass include clear glass, tinted glass, coated (hard or soft) glass, frosted glass, decorated and painted glass, switchable glass, laminated glass, etc. How various types of glass are assembled into an IGU will dictate the performance of the unit in terms of aesthetic, thermal, solar, acoustic, security and fire characteristics. In turn, this will affect the window properties and contribute significantly to the performance of the whole building.

The ThermoSpan team has the experience and tools to advise you on window glazing.
