Glass Fins & Beams

Glass can be used to support glass assemblies to give a fully glazed, frameless appearance. Layers of toughened glass can be laminated together to make solid beams and fins made entirely from glass.

The use of all-glass components provides the designer with the ability to create attractive and novel glass buildings. Glass beams are used to support glass roofs and floors, with glass fins to strengthen large glass façades.

Where glass beams and fins meet, the glass is shaped to achieve a frameless glass to glass meeting style. Stainless steel bolts used to fix both structural elements of glass together.

When thick and layered pieces of glass are used, it is always wise to consider the use of low-iron glass.
