Low-Iron Glass

Regular 'clear' glass has a greenish tint, and this is particularly noticeable on larger and thicker sizes of glass. The glass tint can also cause problems if the glass is to back painted with colours such as yellow.

Low-iron glass is a type of high-clarity glass that seeks to remove this tint. Light transparency can increase by 5 to 6%.

Typically, low-iron glasses are used for facades and windows, aquariums, display cases, and other applications where enhanced clarity is required.
